Granice reprezentacji: doniesienia przyrodnicze z terenów Rzeczypospolitej w II poł. XVII w.
Wiek siedemnasty to okres, w którym rozwijał się i krzepnął gatunek epistemiczny observatio. Podstawowym celem wczesnonowożytnej obserwacji były wymiana oraz cyrkulacja określonej informacji wyrażonej w zwięzłej formie tekstualnej, której nierzadko towarzyszyły także czarno-białe ryciny. W referacie zostaną zaprezentowane observationes przyrodnicze wybranych medyków i botaników z terenów Rzeczypospolitej polsko-litewskiej: Jacoba Breyne’a, Martina de Bernitza, Georga Segera, Johannesa Schmiedta i in. Z jednej strony zastanowimy się, w jaki sposób konstruowano warstwę narracyjną doniesienia przyrodniczego, z drugiej natomiast strony przedstawimy ikonograficzne formy wyobrażeniowe wybranych obiektów ze świata natury, ukazując różne poziomy informacyjne danej ryciny.

Absolwentka historii i socjologii, adiunkt w Katedrze Historii i Filozofii Nauk Medycznych Uniwersytetu Medycznego im. Karola Marcinkowskiego w Poznaniu. Natural History Reports from the Lands of the Republic of Poland in the Second Half of the Seventeenth Century
The seventeenth century was a period in which the epistemic genre of observation developed and flourished. The main purpose of early modern observation was the exchange and circulation of specific information expressed in a concise textual form, which was often accompanied by black and white illustrations. The paper will present natural history observations of selected medics and botanists from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth: Jacob Breyne, Martin de Bernitz, Georg Seger, Johannes Schmiedt and others. On the one hand, we will consider how the narrative layer of a natural history report was constructed; on the other hand, we will present iconographic forms of depicting selected objects from the world of nature, showing different information levels of a given illustration.
